The 15th edition would witness the IFFT’s first international film award that would bring feature films of thematic and aesthetic excellence, for the promotion of film art through competition among debut Asian and African film makers (1st and 2nd feature film). The selection committee of film experts will be responsible for selection of films for the Competition. The competition will be adjudged by an International Jury.
A package of five to seven films will be screened showcasing the trends in cinema one of particular Asian or African country.
Tributes will be paid to Indian and Asian/African directors by organizing Retrospectives of their films.
The 15th Edition continues KW Joseph’s legacy to promote and encourage and recognise excellence in Indian filmmakers by awarding the K W Joseph Film Award to the best debut Indian film of the year and the KW Joseph Lifetime Achievement Award to a noted peer in the industry.
