National Documentary Short Film Festival(NDSF), a prestigious competition based, national level, documentary short film fiesta celebrates its fifth edition this year. All major film schools and media institutes in India take part in the festival which offers cash prizes more than one lakh for various categories. National Documentary Short Film Festival is conducted in association with the International Film Festival of Thrissur (IFFT).

NDSF offers a platform for the budding/emerging creators to illustrate their talent on a national arena with an opportunity to interact with eminent film fraternities and an opportunity for both the emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their works. The organizer,

Center for Media Studies(<cmsindia.net>, Thrissur is a body of artists, academics, researchers, students and scholars actively involved in the production of film, visual content, performance, teaching/learning media, media studies, television and in general, all forms of visual media, arts and culture. This organisation focuses on academic interactions, debates, workshops, festivals, conferences and innovations in media and cultural studies. The flagship programme, National Documentary Short film festival celebrates its fifth year in 2018. A production house for audio and visual media is already launched with a special focus on education and empowerment.

Rules and Regulations for Participation

Films completed between 1st January, 2014 and 30th November 2016 will only be accepted

The length of short films should not exceed 30 minutes

All films should be in DVD format

Films should have subtitles in English

Registration fee for each submission is Rs 500/-

All DVDs should be clearly labelled with the name of the director and the film. All submissions should include the DVDs (2 copies) for selection and preview, publicity materials of the film (such as posters, visuals etc.., if any)

In the event of any legal dispute, the court of appeal is Thrissur.
