Member of over 40 international juries in her lifetime, IFFT’s Jury Chairperson Aruna Vasudev is the Founder-President and now President-Emeritus of the Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC), Founder and Former President of the Indian Chapter of FIPRESCI, Founder-Editor of Cinemaya, the Asian Film Quarterly Magazine, Founder-Director of CineFan, the Asian Film Festival in New Delhi, and Founder-Director of the Inner Path Festival of Buddhist Film, Art and Philosophy. She has authored two books on cinema, edited and co-edited, and translated over a dozen books on cinema and has 20 documentaries to her credit.

Jahnu Barua

Jahnu Barua, one of the leading lights of New Cinema in India, has written, directed, edited and produced over 15 films through a career span of 4 decades. His work, both in Assamese and Hindi, has won 12 national film awards and 9 international film awards including the International FIPRESCI Award for Hkhagoroloi Bohu Door (1996) and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara (2005). He was conferred the highest civilian awards in India – the Padma Shri in 2003 and the Padma Bhushan in 2015.


Liew Seng Tat

Liew is one of the leading filmmakers of Malaysian New Wave Cinema. His debut feature film Flower in the Pocket (2007) won multiple awards in international film festivals including the main New Currents Award at the Busan International Film Festival and the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Liew’s second feature film Lelaki Harapan Dunia (2015) was nominated at the Locarno International Film Festival and winning the Special Jury Prize at the Fajr International Film Festival.

Domestically, the film swept 5 major awards at the Malaysia Film Festival Awards, including Best Film and Best Director. Liew is currently working on his new feature called The Girl With No Head.
